If we fail to adapt, we fail to move forward

The past five years has been a time of both adapting and progressing for AFOS Ltd. As a company, the Hull-based business recently completed the final stages of a management buyout that was started in 2017 which saw the then Chairman, Mike Sutton move on to pastures new at the end of 2022.

As the quartet of Directors we remain focused on strengthening the Companies excellent reputation in the range of equipment we offer into niche markets both in the Food and Medical sector whilst ensuring that we offer bespoke solutions to clients requirements. Our company’s work ethic has provided us with an impressive track record within our markets and we continue to strive to not only compete but to grow the business and be the best we can be.

Projects Director

I started at AFOS in the Stores to ‘help out’ in 2007 and I have the company to thank for putting me through my Electrical paces that led to me being on my tools as a Service Engineer for many happy years!

I came off the road to become part of the Management Team and subsequently a Director – is the role challenging? Yes! Enjoyable? Yes! Hard work? – Yes but it has provided me with the opportunity to travel all around the world, to work on some huge projects and give me a variety to my day to day working life that I will be forever thankful for.

‘Great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people’ – we have a great team and continue to provide a fantastic service to both the Food and Medical industries and long may it continue.

Sarah Clark
Food Sales Director

AFOS for me has offered a complete turn in my career – I previously worked in the education sector after studying Teacher Training at Birmingham University and now I work with fish!! The role has increased my passion as a ‘foodie’ and our many customers have supported this with samples and invitations for New Product Development!

With regards to biggest business achievements, the team at AFOS continues to tick that box – there is nothing more rewarding than working with people who remain committed, positive and enthusiastic about the work we do and the services we provide.

As I move into my ninth year with the company I look forward to the challenges we face as a team and the accomplishments we achieve – in summary:

‘Perfect Results Every Time’

Debbie McNally
Medical Sales Director

Since the beginning of my career at AFOS over 10 years ago in the Service department, I have progressed in the business and become a large part to how the company has grown and evolved into the business we have today.

Now, as Director I have a great feeling of self achievement, working alongside the team of Directors we continue to strive as a business and look to grow continually.

Positive attitudes, great employees, teamwork and our passion for what we do, all helps to face challenges and look forward to the future as a team.

Lisa Featherstone
Director / Company Secretary

I started with AFOS back in 2007 after a varied career path. My initial contract was temporary, and I was to help the accounts department in both sales and purchase ledger. Over the years I have taken on various duties, expanding my understanding of the business and how it runs.

In 2010 I took on the role of Accounts Manager, supporting the MD in the day to day running of the business. The progression to director and shareholder, although daunting, was a natural step forward for both myself, my fellow new directors and AFOS. It ensures the longevity of the AFOS name and gives a whole new lease of life to the company and its employees.
