I started working at AFOS over 9 years ago and quickly realised what a professional, yet people orientated company it was.  Throughout my time at AFOS I have had the opportunity to travel both for client meetings as well as taking part in exhibitions and whilst I love the hot climates that I have visited, I have to say that my favourite place so far has been the Isle of Man – a beautiful and friendly island!

My understanding and knowledge in the food industry that we specialise in has grown enormously and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with both the small and artisan companies up to some of the largest and most well-known suppliers.

Whilst previously working in large corporate companies, the change to now being involved in a smaller company has been refreshing but equally rewarding and this is down to a strong, supportive and dedicated staff team who have a passion backed up with an excellent work ethic.

I have been with AFOS for 10 years now – I came on a temporary contract and never left!  My role has developed and grown over my time here and the training has matched my development.  The company is friendly and supportive, both of which lead to a happy place to work.

I have been at AFOS for over 5 years now. I love the variety of work my role offers, from being able to travel to different sites and see our machines in action to shipping parts all over the world. This job truly keeps me on my toes.

I have worked for AFOS for the last 5 years and throughout my time here I have enjoyed and relished the variety and diversity of the job.  The New Product Development is always a good project to work on as the samples go down a treat!

I started working at AFOS just over a year ago now and in my short time being with the company I have learnt so much and already feel apart of the team.

When I first started at AFOS they said, “you spend more time at work then you do at home so why be miserable” and they really mean that here, it is such a fun and exciting place to work that it makes me want to work hard and put pride in my work.

I am looking forward to seeing how far I can grow with AFOS!

I have worked here at AFOS for nearly 9 years, throughout my time here I have had many good memories and travelled to many numerous countries helping to install and service machines, including Italy and Miami in the USA.

My favourite place I have been to has to be Iquitos in Peru; it was an experience I will never forget.

I love to work on our larger machines like our AK range of kilns and our AT range of defrosters!

I enjoy the variety of work I am able to do on a daily basis. AFOS is supporting me in pursuing further qualifications to improve my skills and further my career. 

I love that AFOS trains you to work independently on-site, problem solving and thinking on my feet really help improve my skills and confidence.

The support and training I have received has grown my confidence massively which is good as the first project I worked on was the install of the biggest smoking kiln we produce – nothing like learning on the job!

I am currently completing my Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Engineering here at AFOS. 

I love learning how things go together and how to make them work. AFOS has provided me the opportunity to learn about a variety of equipment while working with some amazing people.

AFOS has offered me opportunities that I will be forever grateful for.  Through my time at AFOS I have travelled around the world, both on my tools as an Engineer and now in my role as Director. In addition to this I also have the pleasure of working with a dynamic and enthusiastic team whos insight into the work that we do will ensure we remain leaders within our fields.

As I move into my second year here at AFOS, I think the key word is diversity!  Working between the two departments could not be more different and the fact that no two days are the same makes the job both rewarding and enjoyable.

Working as part of a team which is both supportive and encouraging enables me to have a confidence to suggest and run with new ideas.

As the ‘newbie’ to the team I have been welcomed into the AFOS company and look forward to being part of a group of people who are both dedicated and passionate about maintaining the highest quality of equipment into both the Food and the Medical sectors.  I look forward to the challenges ahead and the opportunity to be at the top of my game.

I came into this role directly from University and the ‘on tap’ support that I have and continue to receive has made this transition smoother and much more manageable.  I have been given the opportunity to run my own projects from start to finish and the environment that I work in supports the quote that ‘there is not such thing as a silly question’ and this has increased my confidence 10 fold and I relish the opportunities in front of me.
